GIFQ and Bixberry partnership – gift card payouts for Bixberry’s global AI network earners

GIFQ, the global gift card API, is now the official gift card payout provider for Bixberry. Users can redeem their earnings for digital gift cards from more than 5,000 brands across 100+ countries, delivered in seconds, directly inside the Bixberry app.

Bixberry is a premium real-time access network for AI. It lets people earn from something they already pay for and rarely use in full: their internet connection. Idle internet is securely matched with AI companies that need to reach the live web, so an assistant answering a question about today’s prices or what’s open right now can check the current version of a page rather than working from an older picture of it. Users install the app, let it run in the background, and earn over time.

Earning was the part Bixberry had already solved. The GIFQ integration handles the other half of the promise: getting people paid, wherever they live, in something they actually want.

The challenge of global user payouts

Building a platform that lets people earn money is only half the job. Getting them paid quickly and reliably around the world is the harder half, and it gets harder with every country you add.

Bixberry has users across Europe, North America, Asia and beyond. Covering all of them the traditional way would mean assembling a patchwork: multiple payment providers, local banking partners, and a separate gift card supplier in every region, each with its own contract, its own integration, and its own way of failing at the worst moment.

The payment methods themselves add friction on top of that. Bank transfers ask users to hand over personal banking details for what might be a $12 balance. International fees take a real bite out of small amounts. Payments can sit in processing for several business days. And every new market means another integration to build before launch.

None of that fits a product whose entire appeal is that it takes sixty seconds to set up and send the reward. Bixberry wanted a payout that felt as effortless as the app itself.

Why Bixberry chose GIFQ

Rather than build a global rewards network from scratch, Bixberry integrated the GIFQ Payout API, a single REST endpoint covering more than 5,000 gift card brands, 100+ countries, and 50+ currencies with instant digital delivery.

One integration instead of a supplier network. Bixberry connects to one endpoint under one contract. When the platform opens in a new country, there is no supplier to negotiate with and no new integration to build. Enabling a market becomes a configuration change rather than a quarter of procurement work. In practice that means Bixberry can grow its community anywhere without gating signups by country; if someone can install the app, they can get paid.

An API the team could actually finish. GIFQ’s REST API provides developers with predictable JSON, secure webhooks, clear documentation, and reliable error handling, along with a sandbox that mirrors production behaviour, including failure states. Bixberry’s engineers could test what happens when a brand runs out of stock before it ever happened to a real user, rather than discovering it live.

Support that continues after go-live. Payout integrations rarely break during the build. They break at nine on a Friday evening when a single supplier goes down in a single country. GIFQ partners get a named account contact, direct engineering escalation, and brand-level availability monitoring, so problems surface before support tickets do.

Together, that lets Bixberry launch worldwide gift card payouts without diverting its team into building reward infrastructure that was never meant to be its product.

“Our network only works if people everywhere can join it — an answer about a specific place has to come from a connection in that place. So a payout that only works properly in a dozen countries would have quietly capped the product. GIFQ solved that in one integration rather than thirty. Someone reaches their threshold, picks a brand they actually recognise, and it’s in their inbox in seconds. That’s the whole thing, and it should be boring — which is exactly what it now is.”

How Bixberry users benefit

The integration is invisible from the user’s side, which is the point. What they notice is the cashout screen.

Rewards arrive in seconds. Gift cards are delivered digitally and confirmed immediately, rather than remaining pending while a banking cycle completes. A user can finish the month and spend the reward the same evening.

No banking information is required. Gift cards are delivered to a verified email address: no IBAN, no debit or credit card, no bank account at all. That matters most in markets where banking access is uneven, and transfer fees can make a small payout not worth claiming.

Small balances keep their value. Traditional rails charge fees that hit small amounts hardest, and a $10 reward can lose a meaningful share of itself on the way. A digital gift card skips that layer entirely, which is what makes frequent, low-value cashouts worth offering in the first place.

The choice belongs to the user. Amazon, Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Netflix, Spotify, Adidas, Visa, and thousands more, in local brands and local currency. Not a card that is technically valid and practically useless, and not a single reward chosen on someone else’s behalf.

The benefits of global payouts

For Bixberry, one integration replaced a multi-quarter build. The platform can enter new countries faster, offer more ways to cash out, cut the volume of “where is my reward” support tickets, and scale globally without adding operational weight to the team.

The wider pattern is the more interesting part. Any platform that owes small amounts to large numbers of people faces the same problem: marketplaces, research panels, affiliate programs, loyalty schemes, and increasingly the infrastructure networks emerging around AI. All of them are moving away from a single payout method they can operate toward several payout methods recipients genuinely want. When people choose their own reward, redemption rates rise, and support load falls. The payout stops being the weakest part of the product and starts being a reason to stay.

“The payout experience is one of the most important parts of any platform. Users should be able to receive rewards quickly and choose how they want to spend them, no matter where in the world they live. Get that right, and payouts stop acting like a cost line and start acting like a growth channel. People stay longer, and they bring others with them. Bixberry can now grow its community in every market it enters, without rebuilding payouts for each one.”
