About Alipay China

If you need to pay people based in mainland China, the Alipay China card funds their Alipay wallet with a fixed-value red packet. It is a practical choice for compensating research participants, rewarding employees, or sending small payouts when the recipient will spend at physical stores outside mainland China that accept Alipay.

You can send either a 50 CNH card or a 10 CNY card. Both are single, fixed amounts; you cannot customise the value. The card has no printed expiry, but the underlying red packet is valid for 180 days after the recipient claims it. If it is not used by then, it is forfeited and cannot be reissued.

The card is redeemed by a mainland China resident who has completed real-name verification on Alipay. It can be used only at overseas physical stores that accept Alipay, and only when a single purchase amount is greater than the card value. The card cannot be split, withdrawn as cash, transferred to another person, or used to pay someone else’s bill. If a purchase is refunded, the red packet may be returned if it is still within its validity period.

This card is specific to mainland China. If your recipients are in other markets, you will need a different card. GIFQ lets you send Alipay China cards in bulk from the dashboard or one at a time through the API, so you can include it in a payout workflow for Chinese earners or stage a reward campaign for a team based in China.

Choosing Alipay China makes sense when your recipients already use Alipay and the spending will happen in stores outside mainland China, such as travel or cross-border shopping. If your recipients need to spend online or within mainland China, this card will not work and another payout method would be a better fit.

From product selection to delivery

For a direct order, your business chooses this product, its value and the quantity. Review the card details alongside the recipient’s needs before including it in a bulk order or an integration.

  1. Check the market and value

The card details show the values and currency for this product. Use those to choose an amount that fits your budget and the recipient’s market. For a different country, explore the brand’s other market listings.

  2. Prepare the recipient’s instructions

Use the brand’s instructions to prepare a clear handover to the recipient, including any account or redemption-channel requirements. Ask our team about expiry if it is not listed, then include that information with the reward.

  3. Choose direct ordering or recipient choice

If you need this particular card, order the selected product and value through the dashboard or API. If you want the person to choose the brand, confirm the options available for that payout before presenting the selection.

  4. Start with a small order

Test the flow with a small order and keep its reference. Check the status before repeating a request that appears delayed. In an integration, connect the GIFQ order to your own record so your team can follow up on delivery questions.

Frequently asked questions

Where can the Alipay China card be used?

It can be used only at physical stores outside mainland China that accept Alipay. It cannot be used for online purchases or at stores inside mainland China.

What amounts are available for this card?

There are two fixed amounts: 50 CNH and 10 CNY. You cannot choose a different value. When you buy, you select one of these amounts.

How does the recipient redeem the card?

The recipient must be a mainland China resident with a real-name verified Alipay account. They claim the red packet, then use it when paying with Alipay at an eligible overseas store, with a purchase amount greater than the card value.

Is there an expiry date?

The card itself does not have a stated expiry, but the red packet is valid for 180 days from when the recipient claims it. After that, it cannot be used and will not be replaced.

Can I send Alipay China cards in bulk through GIFQ?

Yes, you can send them in bulk from the GIFQ dashboard or one at a time through the API. This works for paying out earnings to people in China, rewarding a team, or compensating research participants.

Are there any restrictions on how the card can be used?

The red packet cannot be split, withdrawn as cash, transferred, or used to pay for someone else. It must be used in a single transaction where the purchase amount is greater than the card value.
