About DFDS

DFDS is a well-known ferry operator in Northern Europe, and its most distinctive route is the overnight crossing between Oslo and Copenhagen. A DFDS gift card gives someone a trip, not just a purchase. For a business paying or rewarding people, that makes it a memorable alternative to cash or an online voucher, particularly for recipients who value travel.

GIFQ sells DFDS cards in two markets: Denmark, where the card is in Danish kroner (DKK), and Norway, where it is in Norwegian kroner (NOK). Each market is a separate card. A Danish card cannot be used on the Norwegian market and vice versa. Amounts and expiry also differ by market, so check the Denmark or Norway page for the fixed denominations and validity period before you buy.

Both cards redeem on the passenger route between Oslo and Copenhagen, but the terms are not identical. In Denmark, the card applies to DFDS sailings from Danish ports. In Norway, it is specific to the Oslo, Copenhagen route. That makes the choice simple: send the Danish card to someone who will book from Denmark and the Norwegian card to someone who will book from Norway. If your recipient lives far from a port, they still need to travel to Oslo or Copenhagen to use it.

This card suits a business that wants to reward with an experience. You could send it to a sales team for hitting a target, to customers in a loyalty campaign, or to freelancers and research participants as a payout. Because DFDS is a household name in the Nordics, the card feels substantial, but it is not for everyone: a remote worker in inland Norway would probably prefer a different reward.

GIFQ lets you send DFDS cards in bulk from the dashboard to a list of recipients in either country, or one at a time through the API when you need to pay a single person. Digital delivery means the card is sent by email, and the recipient applies it when booking directly with DFDS. You can run campaigns across both markets from one GIFQ account, choosing the right currency and market for each recipient.
