GALP runs more than 700 fuel stations across Portugal, from city forecourts to motorway service areas, so a GALP card is a practical way to cover real driving costs for people who move around the country. It makes sense for field sales teams, delivery drivers, maintenance crews, or anyone who reimburses mileage and wants a clean alternative to expense claims.

Cards are issued in EUR with five fixed values: €5, €10, €15, €20, and €30. Each card expires 12 months after issue, which gives recipients plenty of time to use it. The value is not a simple cash balance: it converts into a per-litre discount at the pump. A €5 card takes 50 cents off each litre for up to 10 litres, a €10 card covers up to 20 litres at 50 cents per litre, and a €15 or larger card gives 75 cents off per litre for up to 20 litres. For most drivers this means the discount applies to a single fill-up; larger cards simply increase the discount, not the number of litres.

Recipients redeem the card by presenting it at any GALP station in Portugal, mainland or islands, when paying for fuel. The card cannot be used for shop purchases, car washes, or other non-fuel items. It is valid only in Portugal, so it will not work in Spain or any other country where GALP operates.

Through GIFQ, you can send GALP cards as a bulk payout or one at a time by API. A common use is settling earnings with Portuguese gig workers, couriers, or sales agents who drive for work. A €20 or €30 card covers a meaningful share of a typical tank, and the fixed amounts make budgeting predictable. The cards also work as spot rewards for employees who hit targets or as thank-yous to customers after a service visit.

Keep in mind that this is a fuel-only card tied to one retailer. Recipients who do not drive or who seldom visit a GALP station will find it less useful than a general-purpose prepaid card. For businesses with a workforce that travels regularly within Portugal, though, it is a direct and uncomplicated benefit.
