Gateau is a Swedish bakery and café chain known for its bread, cakes, pastries, and coffee. A Gateau card is a simple way to treat someone to a fika break, the Swedish coffee-and-pastry ritual, without deciding for them what they should order. It works well for remote teams in Sweden, client thanks, or people taking part in research studies who would appreciate a bakery visit more than cash.

The card is issued in Swedish kronor. You choose any amount from 50 to 2000 SEK, so you can match the value to the occasion: a small coffee for someone answering a study questionnaire, or a larger amount for an employee milestone. It is valid for 24 months from activation, which gives recipients plenty of time to use it.

Recipients use the card in Gateau stores across Sweden. The card cannot be used online, and there is no delivery address required, just present the card at the till. It is not reloadable, but any remaining balance stays on the card for future purchases until expiry.
