About PCS EUR

PCS (Prepaid Card Services) offers a prepaid card that works well for businesses sending money to people around the world. The EUR card is issued in Europe and can be used wherever Mastercard is accepted, online and in stores. It is a straightforward choice if your recipients are spread across many countries but you want to pay in euros.

You can order the PCS EUR card with a fixed value of 20, 50, 100, or 150 euros. There is no flexibility to set a custom amount between those values. The card does not come with an expiry date, so recipients can use it at their own pace. Once loaded, the card is ready to use like a normal prepaid Mastercard.

To use the card, the recipient needs to activate it online if it is a physical card; if you send a virtual card, it is ready to use with the card details provided. The card is single-use, meaning once the balance is spent, it cannot be reloaded. It cannot be combined with other payment methods, so the recipient cannot use it to partially pay for a larger purchase. There are no fees for the recipient, but currency conversion fees may apply if they spend in a currency other than EUR.

Through GIFQ, you can send PCS EUR cards in bulk to a list of recipients or one at a time via API. This works for paying out earnings to contributors in different countries, rewarding employees after a project, or compensating research participants who are not in one place. The card gives them a way to spend their reward without needing a bank account in euros.

Because this card is denominated in EUR and can be used worldwide, it is not tied to a single market. If your recipients are mostly in the eurozone, it is a natural fit. If they are in countries where euros are less common, they will face conversion fees when spending, so consider whether a local currency card would be cheaper for them.
