Salon Pay turns one card into a choice of hair, beauty, nail, and tattoo services across Australia. For a business sending rewards or payouts to Australians, it works when you want something more personal than cash but still flexible enough that the recipient picks the salon and the service. The card is accepted only at participating salons listed on Salon Pay's directory, so it's only useful where at least one participating salon is within reach of the recipient.

The card comes in fixed denominations of AUD 50 and AUD 100, which sets a natural ceiling for smaller thank-yous, milestone rewards, or one-off research honorariums. It's not ideal for large payouts, and because the money is locked to salon services, it only suits people who will actually use a beauty or grooming appointment.

A recipient checks the Salon Pay directory for a salon near them that displays “Salon Pay gift cards accepted,” books a service, and presents the digital gift card for payment. The card is valid for 3 years from the date of issue, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be used to buy another gift card. It is not redeemable at salons that do not participate in the program.
