About Steam South Africa
The Steam South Africa card adds South African rand credit to a Steam account registered in South Africa. Recipients can spend it on games, downloadable content, software, and other digital items sold on the Steam store for that region. The card is region locked and will not work on accounts from other countries.
The card is available in three fixed denominations: 70, 150, and 250 ZAR. There is no option for custom amounts. The card has no expiry date, so the recipient can redeem it whenever they choose.
To redeem, the recipient logs into Steam, clicks their profile name, and selects View my Wallet. They then choose Redeem a Steam Gift Card or Wallet, enter the code from the email, and press Continue. The rand balance appears in their Steam Wallet. If the account has never used wallet credit, Steam may ask for a current address to determine the currency.
Companies use GIFQ to send Steam South Africa cards to pay or reward people in South Africa. A gaming company can compensate beta testers, a research agency can incentivize study participants, and an employer can give a small gaming bonus to staff. GIFQ allows sending cards in bulk from the dashboard or one at a time through the API.
Because this card is only for South Africa, it is not interchangeable with Steam cards for other markets. If you have recipients elsewhere, choose the appropriate Steam card for their country.
From product selection to delivery
For a direct order, your business chooses this product, its value and the quantity. Review the card details alongside the recipient’s needs before including it in a bulk order or an integration.
Check the market and value
The card details show the values and currency for this product. Use those to choose an amount that fits your budget and the recipient’s market. For a different country, explore the brand’s other market listings.
Prepare the recipient’s instructions
Use the brand’s instructions to prepare a clear handover to the recipient, including any account or redemption-channel requirements. Ask our team about expiry if it is not listed, then include that information with the reward.
Choose direct ordering or recipient choice
If you need this particular card, order the selected product and value through the dashboard or API. If you want the person to choose the brand, confirm the options available for that payout before presenting the selection.
Start with a small order
Test the flow with a small order and keep its reference. Check the status before repeating a request that appears delayed. In an integration, connect the GIFQ order to your own record so your team can follow up on delivery questions.
