About Target

Target is a mid-price department store chain known for a broad mix of apparel, home goods, electronics, toys, and essentials. In the United States it operates over 1,800 stores and a large online store, making it a familiar everyday shopping brand. Target Australia is a separate business with its own stores and website, serving shoppers across Australia.

Businesses send Target cards through GIFQ because the brand fits many recipients. A U.S. employee can use it for groceries, clothing, or home items. An Australian customer can spend it at a local Target store or online. For teams or customers spread across both countries, one GIFQ account can issue Target cards in each market.

GIFQ offers Target cards in two markets: the United States and Australia. The U.S. card is in U.S. dollars, and the Australian card is in Australian dollars. Each card is for its own market only; a card bought for the U.S. cannot be redeemed in Australia, and an Australian card cannot be used at Target in the U.S. Amounts and expiry differ by market: U.S. cards accept any amount from $1 to $2,000 and do not expire, while Australian cards come in fixed amounts from AUD 20 to AUD 500 and expire after 36 months. See the market pages for full details.

When you choose a Target card for a recipient, pick the market where that person lives or where you want them to shop. If you are paying a contractor in Melbourne, send the Australian card. If you are rewarding a customer in Chicago, send the U.S. card. The card will arrive with the currency and redemption rules that match that country.

GIFQ lets you send Target cards in bulk from the dashboard or one at a time through the API. Common uses include paying research participants in Australia, giving U.S. employees a bonus, or sending thank-you cards to customers after a purchase. Because the brand is well known and covers everyday needs, it tends to work well as a general-purpose reward.

One thing to know: Target in the U.S. and Target in Australia operate as separate companies. That means products, prices, and store experience differ. If your recipients have a strong preference for one market's Target, confirm which one they mean before ordering.
