About Tesco

Tesco is a familiar name to households across Ireland and the United Kingdom, and for many recipients a Tesco card will simply mean one less weekly shop to pay for. The card works in Tesco stores for groceries and far beyond: home goods, technology, clothing and everyday essentials. For a business, it is a practical reward that covers a large part of everyday spending.

GIFQ offers the Tesco card in two separate markets: Ireland and the United Kingdom. In Ireland it is issued in euros with loads from €1 to €500; in the UK it is issued in pounds sterling with loads from £0.50 to £500. Both markets allow any amount within that range, and both cards are valid for five years from load or last use.

Each market is its own card. A Tesco Ireland card is redeemable only in Tesco stores in Ireland and holds a euro value; a Tesco United Kingdom card is redeemable only in UK stores and holds a pound value. Check the market page for the country where your recipient lives or shops. If you are rewarding a team spread across both countries, you would send the Irish card to people in Ireland and the UK card to people in the UK.

Tesco works well for payouts and rewards where the recipient values choice over a single product or experience. It suits research participants who need to cover their own groceries, affiliate rewards where the earner is an everyday consumer, and employee incentives where a supermarket shop is almost universally useful. The in-store redemption is straightforward for recipients who already visit Tesco regularly; it is less suitable for someone who only shops online, since the card cannot be spent on Tesco's website.

Through GIFQ you can send Tesco cards in bulk from the dashboard for team rewards, customer incentives or research payouts, and you can issue a single card through the API for one-off compensation or a specific earner. The currency is automatically set by the market, so a recipient in Ireland receives euros and a recipient in the UK receives pounds, with no exchange-rate confusion.

To see the exact amounts, expiry details and redemption steps for each country, visit the Tesco Ireland or Tesco United Kingdom page. They list the load range, validity period and how the recipient uses the card in store.
