About Dunnes Ireland
Dunnes Stores is Ireland's largest retailer, and its e-gift card is one of the most broadly useful rewards you can send to people in the Republic of Ireland. A single card can be spent on the weekly grocery shop, on clothing and homeware, or saved for something bigger, in any Dunnes store or on dunnesstores.com. It is the rare gift card that covers both everyday essentials and occasional treats, which makes it a sensible default when you are rewarding a mixed group of Irish employees, customers or research participants.
Cards are loaded in euros and available in fixed amounts of €5, €10, €15, €25, €50, €100, €200 and €500. There is no expiry date on the balance. When a recipient spends less than the card value in one transaction, the remaining balance stays on the card for later use. They can also combine the card with Dunnes' own money-off vouchers, such as €5 off a €25 grocery spend, at the till.
To redeem, the recipient can add the e-gift card to the Dunnes Stores app or to Apple Pay or Google Pay, then use it in store or at checkout online. The card is not a credit or debit card and cannot be exchanged for cash. It is issued for use in the Republic of Ireland only; it will not work for Dunnes Stores in Northern Ireland or Spain, because those are separate operations. A few product exclusions apply, such as gift cards and certain services, which are listed in the terms.
GIFQ lets you send Dunnes e-gift cards to Irish recipients one at a time or in bulk, through the dashboard or the API. Because Dunnes covers groceries and household goods, the card is a strong choice for paying research incentives, settling small affiliate or creator earnings, or saying thank you to a distributed Irish team. A €50 card is a practical contribution to a family's weekly shop; a €200 card is a meaningful bonus.
Businesses outside Ireland should be clear that this card pays out in euros and redeems only in the Republic of Ireland. If your recipients are in Northern Ireland, you will need a different card. Within Ireland, though, Dunnes is about as close to a national default reward as you can find: widely recognised, easy to use, and good for both the weekly shop and the occasional splurge.
