About Tmall.com China
Tmall Supermarket is Alibaba’s online grocery and household essentials store, and for many city workers in China it has become the default for restocking daily necessities. A Tmall.com China gift card pays for food, cleaning supplies, beauty products and baby care through the platform. That makes it closer to a practical allowance than a treat, which is often exactly what a payout or incentive should be.
Cards are issued in CNY with fixed denominations of 30, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000. There is no expiry date, so recipients can hold the balance and use it when they next need a restock. The card must be bound in full to a Taobao or Tmall account before use, and it can only be spent inside Tmall Supermarket, not on other Tmall or Taobao listings. Postage, phased payments and some combined-order payments are not supported; the checkout page shows whether the card can be used for that order.
To redeem, a recipient opens the Taobao or Tmall app, goes into Tmall Supermarket, adds goods to the cart and selects the bound supermarket card at payment. On a computer the same binding and checkout flow is available on Tmall Supermarket’s gift card page. It is a five-minute setup the first time and then the balance sits in the account for future shops.
For a business paying freelancers, research participants or remote staff in China, this card works well when the person has an Alibaba-linked account, which most consumers in the country already do. It is less suitable if recipients are outside China or have no access to Tmall Supermarket, since the card only redeems there and in CNY. It is also not interchangeable with any other Tmall or Taobao-branded card that might be sold for different markets.
Through GIFQ you can send Tmall.com China cards in bulk from the dashboard or one at a time through the API. A typical use is a market research firm compensating Chinese respondents, or a platform paying content creators and part-time earners in China who prefer a supermarket balance to a bank transfer. The delivery and redemption experience is straightforward: the recipient gets the card details, binds them to their Taobao account, and spends the full amount at checkout in Tmall Supermarket.
From product selection to delivery
For a direct order, your business chooses this product, its value and the quantity. Review the card details alongside the recipient’s needs before including it in a bulk order or an integration.
Check the market and value
The card details show the values and currency for this product. Use those to choose an amount that fits your budget and the recipient’s market. For a different country, explore the brand’s other market listings.
Prepare the recipient’s instructions
Use the brand’s instructions to prepare a clear handover to the recipient, including any account or redemption-channel requirements. Ask our team about expiry if it is not listed, then include that information with the reward.
Choose direct ordering or recipient choice
If you need this particular card, order the selected product and value through the dashboard or API. If you want the person to choose the brand, confirm the options available for that payout before presenting the selection.
Start with a small order
Test the flow with a small order and keep its reference. Check the status before repeating a request that appears delayed. In an integration, connect the GIFQ order to your own record so your team can follow up on delivery questions.
