Uber gift cards by market

About Uber

An Uber gift card gives the recipient a ride when they need one, a meal delivered from a local restaurant, or credit sitting in their Uber account. For many people it is a practical and personal reward. Where Uber operates well, the card feels less like a voucher and more like useful money for everyday transport and food.

GIFQ offers Uber cards in 18 markets: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Each card is issued in that market's local currency and works only in that market. A Germany card cannot pay for a ride in Spain, and a Brazil card will not work in Portugal. When you choose a recipient's card, choose the country where they will use it.

Amounts and expiry vary by market. For example, in Australia you can order any amount from 5 to 500 AUD with 36 months validity, while in the United Kingdom the card is fixed at 25 GBP with no expiry. Check the market page for the full range and rules. That page is where you confirm the minimum and maximum, whether any amount is allowed, and how long the recipient has to use the balance.

Uber fits a wide range of payouts and rewards. It works for compensating research participants for travel, rewarding employees for a long week, or giving customers a small thank you after a purchase. In markets where Uber Eats is strong it also covers meals, which makes it more flexible than a single-merchant restaurant card. The exceptions are markets where Uber is less established or mainly a premium option; there the card may appeal to a narrower group, but for the right recipient it still works.

Through GIFQ you send these cards in bulk from the dashboard or one at a time through the API. If you have a workforce across several countries, you can send each person a card for their market in their own currency from one screen, without setting up separate arrangements per country.
